Art has always been a huge comfort in my life, but in the last couple of years it has become a key part of charting and reflecting on an incredibly difficult time.
Like many others I suffer with my mental health and recently have been in therapy to help me deal with anorexia and CPTSD (complex post-traumatic stress disorder). Both of these evolved during my teenage years, the exact time art became such a saviour for me. It’s no surprise that they walk hand in hand again now.
Each of the pieces that follow are a reflection of my deep artistic passion and a profound personal experience, and I really hope that they may resonate with you too.
For those with further interest, my art is inspired by Neurographics and Zentangle – for which there is more information below - but deviates from these techniques with my own personal style which has evolved over many years.
